Tenaris’s steelmaking plant in Koppel, Pennsylvania, has achieved ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications, aligning with top global standards for environmental and occupational health and safety management. The milestone follows Tenaris’s acquisition of the facility in 2020.
The certifications mark the culmination of a five-year, multi-phase effort to identify and mitigate environmental and safety risks. Over USD 122 mln has been invested in upgrades, including a new fume exhaust system and an automated electric arc furnace sampler, key to meeting ISO requirements.
ISO 14001 supports environmental impact reduction through structured management systems, while ISO 45001 focuses on improving workplace health and safety.
