Tenaris has secured key contracts from TotalEnergies and Saipem for the GranMorgu project, Suriname’s first major offshore oil development, located about 150 km off the coast. First oil is expected in 2028, with a target production of 220,000 barrels per day via shallow and deepwater wells connected to an FPSO vessel.
Under its contract with TotalEnergies, Tenaris will supply around 47,000 tons of casing and tubing, including TenarisHydril Blue and Wedge Series connections, and 13 Chrome steel grades. The supply features Dopeless technology, which reduces preparation time and enhances safety in offshore operations. The Rig Direct model includes services such as demand planning, pipe management, and handling of surplus tubulars, supported by a dedicated yard leased by Tenaris in Suriname.
In addition, Saipem, awarded the EPCI scope by TotalEnergies, has selected Tenaris to provide 37,000 tons (190 km) of coated carbon steel seamless line pipe for subsea production and water and gas injection lines. Installation will take place at depths of up to 1,100 meters using advanced S-Lay and J-Lay vessels.
Production and coating for the line pipe package will be carried out at Tenaris’s facilities in Italy and Mexico, leveraging its global manufacturing and logistics network.
