Tenaris has secured a contract to supply seamless line pipe and TenarisShawcor thermal insulation coatings for risers and flowlines in the Buzios 11 offshore development.
Located 180 km off Rio de Janeiro in the Santos Basin at a depth of 2,100 meters, Buzios 11 will be the eleventh production module of the field. The phase includes 15 wells connected to an FPSO vessel, with the collection system relying entirely on rigid risers and flowlines.
The contract covers 18,000 tons (115 km) of seamless pipe to be produced at Tenaris’s Dalmine facility in Italy. Of this, 112 km will be coated with TenarisShawcor’s Marine 5-Layer Syntactic and Marine 5-Layer Solid systems at the Confab mill in Brazil.
Supply will follow Tenaris’s One Line service model, which integrates project management to ensure efficiency and adaptability. The work also highlights the expanded capabilities of TenarisShawcor, acquired from Mattr in 2023, which added nine coating plants and two R&D centers worldwide to Tenaris’s network.
