Ternium plans to complete its new 2.6 mln-ton slab steel mill in Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, by mid-2026.
This expansion, the largest in the company’s history, will boost its capabilities in the USMCA region, according to CEO Maximo Vedoya.
The facility is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2026, as previously reported in June 2023.
Ternium, with operations in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, the southern United States, and Central America, has an annual finished steel production capacity of 12.4 mln tons.
