TMK supplies high-strength pipes for racing cars

TMK said its subsidiary, Pervouralsk New Pipe Plant (PNTZ), has manufactured and supplied seamless pipes for racing cars produced by BR Engineering.

PNTZ produced around 730 meters of seamless cold-formed tubes with a 40 mm diameter and 1.5 mm wall thickness, made from 30KhGSA steel, which offers high strength and impact resistance. The tubes are used in the chassis of the BR03 sports prototype, where they are laser-cut, welded into a complex frame, and serve as the structural base for mounting the engine, suspension, and other key components.

BR Engineering said the pipes fully meet strict motorsport requirements on chemical composition, geometry, and defect-free quality, ensuring driver safety at high speeds and in potential collisions. TMK noted that its ability to produce both standard and customized pipe solutions allows it to support technically demanding projects such as motorsport applications.

PNTZ has been supplying pipes to BR Engineering since 2023, including for experimental chassis development of the BR03. The model delivers 470 hp, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 280 km/h.
