Turkish steel producer Tosyali Holding is reportedly interested in acquiring Liberty Dudelange, a Luxembourg-based steel producer, according to media reports.
Several buyers initially expressed interest in the acquisition, but in the final stage, only two candidates remained, Tosyali Holding and an unnamed company. Interested parties had until February 14 to submit their offers, and the final decision now rests with the insolvency administrator.
While the official announcement is pending, reports indicate that the sale process and administrative procedures could take some time, with the transfer likely to be completed by mid-April. Liberty Dudelange was declared bankrupt by the Luxembourg commerce tribunal in December 2023.
The Dudelange plant includes two hot-dip galvanizing lines with an annual capacity of 620,000 tons, two electro-galvanizing lines with an annual capacity of 360,000 tons and a steel service center with a capacity of 150,000 tons per year.
