Turkey’s Tosyali Toyo Celik, a joint venture between Tosyali and Japanese steel firm Toyo Kohan, is investing USD 200 mln to expand production capacity at its Osmaniye plant, according to local media reports.
Board Member Kadir Tosyali stated that this investment will double their annual tin production capacity from 325,000 tons to 650,000 tons. The expansion includes the addition of new tin-free steel production, with trial production already underway. The project is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
“This expansion will help reduce imports by supplying products domestically that Turkey currently imports,” Kadir Tosyali explained.
With a total production capacity of 1.2 mln tons per year, Tosyali Toyo produces a variety of steel products, including pickled and oiled steel, cold-rolled, galvanized, prepainted, and tinplate products.
