Tubacex, Mubadala launch OCTG manufacturing platform in Abu Dhabi

Tubacex Group and Mubadala Investment Company have announced the full operational launch of their joint venture in Abu Dhabi, marking the start of a regional manufacturing platform for advanced oil country tubular goods (OCTG) solutions.

The facility, operating under the TBX Nexxia brand, focuses on corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) tubular products for complex energy applications. Located in ICAD, Abu Dhabi, the plant provides end-to-end capabilities, including materials design, manufacturing, finishing and technical support, supported by Tubacex’s global network in Spain and Brazil.

The launch follows a USD 200 mln investment announced in 2024 to establish a UAE-based industrial platform aligned with national industrial development goals. The project was unveiled during Make it in the Emirates 2026.

Adnoc is the cornerstone client, with a long-term agreement for the supply of CRA tubulars for gas production projects in Abu Dhabi.

The platform aims to localize advanced OCTG manufacturing, reducing reliance on imports, shortening delivery timelines and improving supply chain reliability amid ongoing global disruptions.

With a production capacity of around 20,000 tons per year, the facility is expected to support regional energy infrastructure projects while contributing to local industrial development through job creation and technical capability building.

Tubacex is a global leader in seamless stainless steel and high-performance alloy tubular products, operating 25 production plants and 17 service center worldwide.
