Turkish stainless steel producer Ukinox has signed a USD 14 mln agreement to establish a stainless steel kitchen sink manufacturing plant in Egypt’s Sokhna Industrial Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
The facility will be built on a 37,000-square-meter site and is designed to produce 1.2 mln stainless steel kitchen sinks annually. Commercial production is scheduled to begin in mid-2028, creating around 220 direct jobs.
The project will supply both the domestic and export markets and forms part of SCZone’s strategy to attract value-added engineering industries and expand local manufacturing.
SCZone said the investment strengthens the industrial base of the Sokhna Industrial Zone, leveraging its proximity to Sokhna Port and integrated infrastructure to support export-oriented manufacturing. The project also aligns with the authority’s strategy to localize advanced industries, deepen supply chains and increase industrial exports.
