The U.S. Department of Commerce has issued its final determinations in the antidumping and countervailing duty investigations on corrosion-resistant steel imports from the UAE and Turkey.
For the UAE, the regulator set an antidumping rate of 7.2pct for Al Ghurair, 16.38pct for United Iron & Steel, and 8.4pct for all other Emirati exporters. Earlier this year, the U.S. had assigned preliminary margins of 7.01pct, 16.37pct, and 8.24pct, respectively.
For Turkey, the final dumping margins were set at 6.48pct for Borcelik, 10.49pct for Yildiz, and 8.06pct for all other Turkish exporters. In comparison, preliminary margins had been 15.18pct for most Turkish exporters, excluding Borcelik, ArcelorMittal Celik, and Bamesa.
The scope of the investigation covers certain flat-rolled steel products clad, plated, or coated with corrosion-resistant metals such as zinc, aluminum, or alloys containing zinc, aluminum, nickel, or iron. The scope also includes products whether or not corrugated, painted, varnished, laminated, or further coated with plastics or non-metallic substances, provided they fall within the specified dimensional parameters.
