Vallourec has secured a major contract from TotalEnergies to supply more than 16,000 tons of tubular products for the development of the Absheron gas field in Azerbaijan.
The contract covers oil country tubular goods (OCTG) and line pipe. The OCTG package includes premium pipes with VAM connections, accessories and CLEANWELL dope-free technology, designed to improve operational efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
The line pipe supply covers around 159 km of pipes with anti-corrosion coating for onshore and offshore applications. Vallourec will also provide local project support through its VAM Caspian entity.
Located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, around 100 km southeast of Baku, the Absheron field is being developed to produce up to 6 bln cubic metres of gas per year and 47,000 barrels per day of condensate. The gas will supply Azerbaijan’s domestic market and support exports.
