Vallourec wins new tubular supply contract for Associated Gas Upstream Project 2

Vallourec has secured a second contract from TotalEnergies to supply casing, tubing, and accessories for drilling 48 wells under the Associated Gas Upstream Project 2 (AGUP2), a key component of the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) in Iraq.

The project, developed with partners Basra Oil Company and Qatar Energy, aims to boost production from the Ratawi oil field to 210,000 barrels of oil and 154 mln cubic feet of gas per day, while reducing routine flaring and supporting Iraq’s low-carbon transition.

The GGIP is a landmark multi-energy initiative focused on enhancing Iraq’s natural resource development and electricity generation. It includes gas recovery from three southern oil fields, redevelopment of the Ratawi field, construction of a 1 GW solar farm, and a seawater treatment plant.

Vallourec previously supplied 15,000 tons of casing and tubing with VAM connections for the project’s first 30 wells. Under the new phase, it will deliver over 30,000 tons of premium tubular products, including 3,000 tons of anti-corrosion line pipe, reinforcing its long-term partnership with TotalEnergies in Iraq.
