Vardhman Special Steel has awarded Danieli a contract to supply a new black-bar straightening line for its Ludhiana plant in Punjab, India.
The advanced line will feature a two-roll straightening unit capable of processing special steel bars ranging from 16 to 102 mm in diameter at speeds of up to 120 m/min. It is designed to deliver high-quality output with excellent productivity and dimensional tolerances, achieving straightness of up to 0.5 mm/m for as-rolled steel and 0.1 mm/m for bright steel.
Built for flexibility, the heavy-duty system accommodates a wide range of steel grades through a variable working-angle mechanism. The line will also include Danieli Automation’s advanced process controls, offering a user-friendly interface to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
Danieli’s scope includes engineering, equipment supply, on-site training, and technical support. Commissioning is expected in early 2026.
