Vow ASA’s wholly owned subsidiary Scanship AS has entered into an exclusive collaboration agreement with Danieli Corus B.V. to develop and market solutions for using biocarbon in integrated steel production.
The collaboration combines Vow’s pyrolysis technology, which converts biomass and waste streams into biocarbon, with Danieli Corus’ expertise in ironmaking and steelmaking. The biocarbon can replace part of the fossil carbon used in steel production, helping reduce fossil CO2 emissions.
The companies will initially target opportunities in Brazil and India, where biomass-based carbon solutions may be relevant for steel producers seeking to reduce their carbon footprint.
Danieli Corus supplies ironmaking and steelmaking technologies, including fuel injection systems for blast furnaces.
Vow ASA, headquartered in Oslo, develops technologies for waste management, resource recovery and industrial decarbonization. Through subsidiaries including Scanship, C.H. Evensen Industriovner and Etia, the company converts waste streams such as biomass and end-of-life tires into biocarbon, low-carbon fuels and energy for industrial applications.
