Turkey exported around 256,000 tons of wire rod in the first quarter of 2026, down by 11pct YoY, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Romania remained the largest export destination for Turkish wire rod during the January-March period with around 133,300 tons, followed by Australia with 32,300 tons and Bulgaria with 25,000 tons.
In March alone, Turkey’s wire rod exports totaled around 152,000 tons, declining by 18pct compared with the same month last year but increasing sharply from 65,800 tons recorded in February.
