Wire rod exports plunge in April

Turkish wire rod exports experienced a significant decline in April, dropping by 17.8pct compared to the previous month, with a YoY decrease of over 70pct.

Among the destinations, Israel stood out as the top receiver of Turkish wire rod, importing 20,803 tons. Paraguay followed with 2,344 tons and Senegal with 1,997 tons.

During the period of January to April 2023, wire rod exports from Turkey witnessed a substantial decline of 60pct YoY, totaling 155,933 tons.

Israel remained the primary export destination for Turkish wire rod, receiving 84,091 tons during this period. Other notable destinations included Australia with 15,927 tons, Romania with 11,682 tons, Haiti with 5,060 tons, and Chile with 4,785 tons.
