SENAAT subsidiary Zamil Steel has completed the design and fabrication of specialized process equipment for Saudi Aramco’s Fadhili Gas Increment Project – Package 4, including what SENAAT described as the thickest pressure vessels manufactured in Saudi Arabia to date.
The scope included two gas slug catcher/separator units, each measuring 44 metres in length and 7.93 metres in diameter, with an approximate weight of 1,750 tons per unit. SENAAT said the units are the first of their kind to be manufactured in Saudi Arabia with these specifications.
The vessels feature a wall thickness of 196 mm, in addition to 3.2 mm of corrosion-resistant Alloy 825 internal cladding. Zamil Steel developed specialized fabrication methods to handle the substantial weight and thickness while meeting the project’s quality and safety requirements.
The equipment was manufactured for the Fadhili Gas Increment Project for Saudi Aramco and Samsung E&A. SENAAT said the project demonstrates the growing capability of Saudi manufacturers to locally produce complex heavy process equipment for the energy sector.
