Zhejiang Yuxin has successfully commissioned and granted final acceptance for its new Danieli Zerobucket Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), now operating stably and efficiently in China.
The advanced furnace features Danieli’s patented Tornado continuous scrap preheating system, which includes a variable-geometry preheating zone. This innovative design automatically adjusts the free cross-section of the scrap conveyor, optimizing fume velocity, temperature, and overall process control.
The dynamic configuration of the Tornado system enables Zhejiang Yuxin to preheat a wide variety of scrap types efficiently, offering greater flexibility in scrap sourcing. The system delivers energy savings of up to 70 kWh per ton compared to traditional bucket charge operations, and 10 kWh per ton over static preheating systems.
In addition to energy efficiency, the Tornado technology ensures reduced carbon and NOx emissions, contributing to a more sustainable production process.
