Voestalpine has secured rail infrastructure orders totaling EUR 500 mln (USD 579 mln) from Germany’s Deutsche Bahn (DB) and Switzerland’s SBB, reinforcing its position in railway system solutions, the company said.
The contracts cover the supply of rails, turnout systems, and signaling and monitoring technologies, along with related services including logistics, maintenance and training.
For DB, Voestalpine will supply rails and turnout components for major infrastructure projects, including the renovation of Frankfurt main station and upgrades to key corridors such as the Hamburg-Berlin line. The German rail operator is planning to invest over EUR 23 bln (USD 26.6 bln) in infrastructure in 2026.
In Switzerland, voestalpine has signed a long-term framework agreement of up to 20 years with SBB, covering the supply of axle counting systems and digital signaling technologies aimed at enhancing network safety and efficiency.
The company will also provide service, diagnostics and cybersecurity solutions under the agreement.
The orders follow recent projects including Austria’s Koralmbahn and Egypt’s high-speed rail Green Line, highlighting continued demand for advanced rail infrastructure systems, Voestalpine said.
