ArcelorMittal has expanded its partnership with Romania-based Lio-Metal to promote the use of Magnelis coated steel, as the latter plans to phase out conventional galvanized steel across its product portfolio.
Under the agreement, Lio-Metal will become a key promoter of Magnelis in Romania, increasing its use across construction, infrastructure and industrial applications.
Magnelis is a zinc-aluminium-magnesium coated steel offering enhanced corrosion resistance compared with standard galvanized products, with longer service life and lower maintenance requirements. The product also uses less zinc and features self-healing properties on cut edges, improving durability in harsh environments.
Lio-Metal produces steel components for construction, infrastructure and renewable energy applications, including metal structures, facades, guardrails and photovoltaic systems.
