EMSTEEL Group has received the EcoVadis Platinum Medal for 2026, improving from Bronze in 2025 and placing among the top 1pct of companies assessed worldwide over the past 12 months, with a score of 95 out of 100.
EcoVadis evaluates corporate sustainability performance across more than 175,000 companies in over 180 countries and more than 230 industries. Its assessments draw on internationally recognized sustainability standards and frameworks.
According to EMSTEEL, the group is the only company identified with a Platinum rating in the UAE’s heavy industries sector and the GCC’s steel and building materials sector, based on its benchmarking of publicly available results. The rating also places it among a select group of steel and cement producers worldwide to achieve Platinum status.
The group said the improved rating reflects progress in sustainability management and responsible business practices. Its ongoing efforts focus on decarbonization, resource efficiency, circularity, low-carbon product development, health and safety, and governance.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, EMSTEEL has annual production capacity of 3.5 mln tons of steel and 4.6 mln tons of cement. The group exports to more than 70 markets, which account for around 30pct of total sales, and produces a broad range of steel products including wire rod, rebar, heavy sections and sheet piles.
