Ministry awards contracts for Sultan Haitham City project

Oman’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning has signed contracts worth USD 590 mln for the infrastructure development of Phase I of Oman’s mega Sultan Haitham City project.

Spanning an area of 5 mln sq m, Phase One of Sultan Haitham City project will feature more than 7,000 residential units. The construction area is more than 3 mln sq m.

Among the agreements signed was a deal to establish networks for electricity, water, sewage, irrigation, broadband, telecommunications, and district cooling services. The project, to be completed within 24 months, will be implemented by Towell Infrastructure Company.

Sarooj Construction Company has been signed up to construct main roads, tunnels and culverts. The entire work will be completed within 30 months.

Another agreement was signed with Al Faniah Oman Company to build three transformer stations. The project will be carried out within 15 months.
