Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation has formed a new joint venture in Muscat, Integrated Supply Chain Oman LLC, with state-owned Energy Development Oman. The company will focus on providing supply-chain management services to the energy sector, starting with Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) and later expanding into broader hydrocarbon, renewable, and other energy-related products.
Sumitomo has supplied OCTG to Petroleum Development Oman for more than two decades, supporting operations through services such as inventory management, maintenance, and just-in-time delivery.
The new venture strengthens the long-standing energy partnership between Oman and Japan and aims to improve the resilience and efficiency of Oman’s energy supply chain, Sumitomo said.
