Turkey imported 1.67 mln tons of pig iron between January and September 2025, a sharp 75pct YoY increase, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Russia remained the dominant supplier with 1.3 mln tons, followed by Kazakhstan with 131,600 tons and Germany with 56,000 tons.
In September alone, Turkey’s pig iron imports jumped 154pct YoY to 182,850 tons, also rising 116pct compared with the previous month.
