Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittefaq Steel Products Company has officially joined the World Steel Association (Worldsteel) as a regular member, the industry body announced. The company will be represented by its CEO, Sharjeel Azhar.
Al-Ittefaq Steel becomes the second Saudi steel producer to join the association after Hadeed, highlighting the Kingdom’s growing presence in the global steel industry.
Other regular members from the Middle East include Emirates Steel Arkan (UAE), Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel (Oman), Qatar Steel Company (Qatar), as well as Iran’s Mobarakeh Steel and Arfa Iron & Steel.
Worldsteel also welcomed new regular members from Asia and Latin America, including Daehan Steel (South Korea), Diaco S.A. (Colombia), SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation (Philippines), and VAS Group Nghi Son Joint Stock Company (Vietnam).
The World Steel Association is among the world’s most influential industry organizations, representing approximately 85pct of global steel production through its members, which include producers, national and regional associations, and research institutions.
