    AM/NS India acquires land for new integrated steel plant in Andhra Pradesh

    ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) has begun acquiring land in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, for its planned integrated steel plant in Rajayapeta. The initial payment has been made, and possession is expected soon, allowing the company to begin work on the greenfield project.

    The plant will have an initial capacity of 7.3 mln tons per annum, reinforcing AM/NS India’s commitment to India’s goal of reaching 300 mln tons of crude steel capacity by 2030.

    AM/NS India continues to expand its presence across the country. Its flagship plant in Hazira, Gujarat, is on track to increase capacity from 9 mln to 15 mln tons per annum. Additionally, the company is planning an integrated steel plant in Odisha, where it already has a strong foothold.

    A joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel, AM/NS India is a leading integrated flat carbon steel producer with a crude steel capacity of 9 mln tons per annum and a pellet capacity of 20 mln tons. The company manufactures a diverse range of flat steel products.
