Aperam S.A., a global leader in stainless and specialty steel solutions and recycling, and Universal Stainless, a leading supplier in the aerospace and industrial sectors in the USA, announced that Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. stockholders have approved Aperam’s pending acquisition. The approval was given at a special meeting of Universal stockholders.
According to the terms of the merger agreement, Universal stockholders will receive USD 45.00 in cash for each share of common stock they own immediately before the merger takes effect. Aperam expects the transaction to close in the first quarter of 2025.
Founded in 1994, Universal Stainless specializes in manufacturing specialty steels. Aperam operates six production facilities across Brazil, Belgium, and France, with a capacity of 2.5 mln tons of flat stainless and electrical steel, supported by a strong distribution network and innovative biomass-based steel production.
