South Korea’s Doosan Enerbility has signed a USD 612 mln contract with the Saudi Electric Power Corporation (SEPC) to build the 1.8 GW PP12 CCGT power plant, located 150 km northwest of Riyadh. The project includes designing and supplying key equipment and is set for completion in 2028.
This deal follows a recent USD 1.5 bln contract to construct two combined cycle power plants, Rumah 1 and Nairiyah 1, totaling 3.6 GW. Doosan, as part of a Korea Electric Power Corporation-led consortium, will handle engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for both 1.8 GW plants. Located 80 km and 470 km northeast of Riyadh, they are also slated for completion in 2028.
