Hoa Phat Group has signed a contract with Primetals Technologies to supply a high-quality steel casting and rolling line with an annual capacity of 500,000 tons. The move is aimed at expanding Hoa Phat’s production of premium steel for specialized applications.
Primetals will design, supply, and install a billet/bloom caster, enabling Hoa Phat to produce steel for automotive tire components (tire cord, bead wire), bearing steel, fabricated steel, prestressed steel, and other high-grade products. The system will also feature standby modules for casting large-size billets for rail steel and beam blanks for structural profiles up to 800mm.
In addition, Primetals will equip Hoa Phat with a comprehensive wire rod rolling line to manufacture steel cord, bead wire, cold-formed and prestressed steel, spring steel, crane cable steel, and precision screw steel. The line will also produce smooth round and rolled steel bars for industrial and defense applications.
Production is scheduled to begin in Q3 2026 for the rolling line, with the casting line expected to come online in Q4 2026.
