Vietnamese steelmaker Hoa Phat Group has selected Danieli to supply a new long-products rolling mill and a four-strand continuous casting machine to be installed in Tay Ninh province.
The new facility, with a designed capacity of 700,000 tons per year, will produce rebar in sizes from 10-32 mm and wire rod coils from 5.5-8 mm. The line will operate on a direct-charging basis, with billets transferred straight from the caster and temperature-equalized using induction heaters, eliminating the need for a conventional reheating furnace and reducing operating costs while ensuring stable rolling conditions.
The four-strand caster will supply high-quality billets tailored to the rolling mill’s requirements, supporting productivity and product consistency. The hot-charging process and induction-based temperature control are expected to lower energy consumption and reduce environmental impact.
Once commissioned in the first quarter of 2027, the installation will become Hoa Phat’s ninth Danieli long-products rolling mill and the 24th Danieli rolling mill operating in Vietnam.
