Interpipe has started production of tubing equipped with PTFE (Teflon) sealing rings, expanding its product offering for the oil and gas sector, the company said.
The PTFE rings, sourced from the United States, have been integrated into Interpipe’s production process, with threading operations carried out at the Interpipe Niko Tube facility. The project required the introduction of dedicated technology, including specialized tooling to machine high-precision grooves in couplings to ensure proper installation of the rings.
PTFE rings are used to improve resistance to external pressure and act as a back-up seal for internal pressure, extending service life. They are specified in relevant API standards for certain connection types.
Interpipe is a global producer of steel pipes and railway products, supplying customers in more than 50 countries. In 2025, the company delivered 470,000 tons of pipes and 89,000 tons of railway products, with railway products marketed under the KLW brand.
