Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel has commissioned Danieli to upgrade its casting machine capabilities at its Sohar facility in Oman. The modernization aims to enhance efficiency and diversify the product range, enabling the production of new steel formats, including 450 mm and 380 mm round billets, as well as 250×350 mm sections for rail applications.
As part of the upgrade, Danieli will integrate advanced automation and control systems, including final electromagnetic stirrers, to improve precision and quality, particularly for rail steel production.
The technological enhancements will allow Jindal Shadeed to expand its market presence by offering specialized steel grades tailored to various industries, including construction, oil and gas, automotive, power generation, infrastructure, and chemicals.
The phased implementation will begin in July 2025 and continue through March 2026, ensuring minimal operational disruptions.
