Sarralle India has been chosen by Jindal Steel & Power (JSPL) to provide comprehensive services for the 250-ton RH degasser at their Angul site in Odisha, India. The project entails design and engineering, manufacturing, commissioning, and supervision.
The RH process, also known as the Vacuum Circulation Process, plays a crucial role in eliminating dissolved gases, such as hydrogen, from molten steel, enabling the production of high-grade steel. The primary objectives of the RH process include reducing hydrogen and nitrogen levels and decarburization, resulting in the efficient degassing of significant quantities of molten steel and the production of high-purity steel for various grades.
The core facilities of this undertaking will feature a 250-ton RH degasser equipped with a movable platform and a robust material handling system. The commissioning for this degasser is scheduled for the year 2024.
