JSW’s NSL Green Steel to install high-capacity shredder at Maharashtra facility

NSL Green Steel Recycling, a fully owned JSW Steel subsidiary company, selected Danieli Centro Recycling technology for its new heavy-duty shredder, to be installed at Khalapur, Raigad district of Maharashtra, India.

To maximize production, an infeed conveyor will constantly feed the plant, avoiding downtimes in scrap loading.

The selected shredder will process a mix of light-to-medium grades of ferrous scrap, sheared light demolition scrap, cars and car bales, with productivity exceeding 100 tph.

The high-density quality proler obtained will be efficiently charged for melting at JSW works.

The downstream shredded-scrap separation will clean the material and separate ferrous and non-ferrous scrap, and a radial conveyor will stockpile the ferrous shredded product, proler, into a single area.

A Danieli-patented variable speed drive system, inverter, will power the shredder main motor, and thanks to its high average motor utilization, will improve productivity levels, enhancing torque control for heavy metals processing with negligible productivity impact.

Overall, these features ensure lower electrical power consumption (kWh/ton) compared to traditional systems, without compromising productivity.
