Turkish steel producer Kardemir has announced a new sales round for billet and wire rod, featuring reduced prices, according to its latest price list.
Billet prices have been cut by USD 15 per ton compared to previous levels. The company is now offering S235JR grade billets at USD 485 per ton EXW, while B420 grade billets are priced at USD 495 per ton EXW. Market sources report that Kardemir sold substantial volumes during this round, leading to a swift closure of billet sales.
Wire rod prices have also seen a reduction of USD 10 per ton CFR from last month’s figures. The 5.5 mm SAE 1006 grade is currently listed at USD 590 per ton EXW, while the 5.5 mm SAE 1008-1010 grade is available at USD 580 per ton EXW.
Established in 1937, Kardemir is a key player in Turkey’s steel industry, with a 3.5 mln tons annual production capacity. The company manufactures billets, blooms, rebars, and profiles at its Karabuk-based facilities.
