Turkish steelmaker Kardemir successfully sold a substantial quantity of rebar and closed sales on the same day after reducing its prices in the latest price list issued on January 16.
In this round, the company offered 12-32 mm rebar at TRY 19,710 (USD 556) per ton EXW, down from the previous price of TRY 19,850 (USD 570) per ton EXW, set on December 11, 2024. The pricing was based on an exchange rate of TRY 34.8 per USD.
According to market insiders, the mill sold around 25,000-30,000 tons of rebar before closing the sales.
Founded in 1937, Kardemir is a major steel player in Turkey with a production capacity of 3.5 mln tons per year. The company’s product portfolio includes blooms, billets, rebars, profiles, and various other steel products, with manufacturing facilities strategically located in Karabuk.
