Marcegaglia UK has expanded its manufacturing capabilities at the Oldbury site to include the production of electro-welded stainless steel tubes, complementing its existing carbon steel tube production. This expansion enhances the company’s ability to offer a broader range of high-quality steel products for various industries.
As the world’s leading producer of stainless steel welded tubes, Marcegaglia offers a diverse product range, including stainless steel process pipes for the food and dairy sectors, tubes for heat exchangers, oil & gas applications, and tubes for construction, automotive, and ornamental uses.
The new stainless steel tube production at Oldbury focuses on grade 304 steel, meeting EN10296-2 standards for round tubes and ASTM A544 standards for square and rectangular tubes.
The Oldbury facility spans 69,000 square meters, with 46,184 square meters of covered space. It houses four carbon steel tube production lines with a capacity of 70,000 tons and three stainless steel tube lines, increasing capacity by an additional 30,000 tons.
Marcegaglia UK’s production lines can produce a variety of tube finishes, and all tubes undergo rigorous testing, including tensile, flattening, expansion, dimensional, and visual checks to ensure the highest quality standards. This expansion marks a key milestone in Marcegaglia UK’s growth and strengthens its commitment to meeting the diverse needs of the steel industry.
