Massoud Steel to build metal packaging factory in Sokhna Industrial Zone

Local manufacturer Massoud Steel has signed an agreement to establish a metal packaging factory in the Sokhna Industrial Zone, with a total investment of USD 19 mln, according to a statement from the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

The facility will be the first of its kind within the SCZone dedicated to manufacturing metal containers. Operations are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026, with the project set to create approximately 130 direct jobs.

Initially, the factory will focus on meeting domestic market demand. However, over time, it plans to expand into exports. SCZone Chairman Walid Gamal El Din highlighted that the zone’s export-friendly infrastructure, incentive programs, and regulatory exemptions will support the company’s long-term growth and global ambitions.
