Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi (KEZAD) and its strategic partner, Metal Park, have launched the first phase of a cutting-edge metal storage hub in KEZAD Free Zone. This facility is the world’s first pay-as-you-go storage solution for the metal industry and the first independent warehouse dedicated to metal storage.
The USD 30 mln project will be completed in three phases, offering a total storage capacity of 350,000 tons and 54,000 CBM of shelved storage exclusively for metals. Phase one covers 93,000 sqm, featuring 26 overhead cranes (up to 40 tons), 55 loading bays, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) capable of handling 48,000 tons daily. Additional features include vertical storage, a cantilever loading system, and three weighbridges with capacities up to 150 tons. The hub is a secure, gated facility with 24/7 surveillance.
Strategically located, the storage hub provides direct access to Khalifa Port, Etihad Rail, and major highways linking Abu Dhabi to the Northern Emirates and the GCC. Metal Park, based in KEZAD, is an integrated platform offering scalable solutions for metal vendors, processors, and fabricators in the UAE.
