Metinvest has completed the acquisition of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products lasi in eastern Romania, following regulatory approvals from the European Commission and Romania’s national competition authority.
The facility produces welded structural pipes for the construction, engineering, infrastructure, and agricultural sectors, with a maximum annual capacity of 240,000 tons. It operates five pipe mills, two longitudinal cutting lines, and two coating lines, and is scheduled to be fully integrated into Metinvest’s production and organizational structure in 2026.
Metinvest said the plant’s proximity to Ukraine, around 600 kilometres from Zaporizhzhia, will allow it to supply up to 180,000 tons per year of HRC from the Zaporizhstal joint venture, supporting stable operations and regular order flow at the Romanian site.
