Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works (MMK) has started producing heat-strengthened, weldable reinforcement bars of strength class A600C, in line with the requirements of GOST 34028.
Conformity of A600C rebar with a periodic profile has been confirmed by certification body RosStroyTest (certificate No. RU.MCC.254.473.38988). The certification covers 10 mm diameter rebar in coils and 12-32 mm diameters in rods.
According to the company, A600C rebar offers higher yield and tensile strength, as well as improved elongation, compared with the widely used A500C grade. The higher strength enables reduced metal consumption in reinforced concrete structures and allows use in applications subject to increased loads, including monolithic and high-rise buildings, large industrial facilities, and infrastructure projects such as bridges, metro stations, tunnels, and overpasses.
MMK is a major Russian steel producer operating a fully integrated production chain, from iron ore preparation and coke production to the manufacture of downstream steel products. The company has an annual crude steel production capacity of around 14.5 mln tons per annum.
