India’s state-owned iron ore miner NMDC reported a 17.8 pct YoY increase in production, reaching 4.62 mln tons in February 2025, up from 3.92 mln tons in the same month last year, according to a stock exchange filing.Â
Iron ore sales for the month remained largely unchanged at 3.98 mln tons.
For the April 2024 to February 2025 period, cumulative production rose to 40.49 mln tons from 40.24 mln tons in the previous fiscal year. Sales, however, saw a slight decline to 40.20 mln tons from 40.48 mln tons.
NMDC, India’s largest iron ore miner, operates three fully mechanized mines, two in Chhattisgarh and one in Karnataka, with a total annual production capacity of approximately 35 mln tons.
