The Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), a state-owned enterprise, has entered a strategic partnership with the TEXMiN Foundation of IIT (ISM) Dhanbad to accelerate innovation in mining and metallurgy.
As part of this collaboration, SAIL’s IISCO Steel Plant in Burnpur announced plans to enhance intellectual capacity by offering specialized training programs. These will include practical case studies and advanced modules focused on modern steelmaking techniques.
This initiative is aligned with India’s vision for a future-ready digital economy. It aims to strengthen workforce skills while promoting safer, smarter, and more sustainable mining and steel production practices.
SAIL, one of India’s top three steel producers, operates with an annual capacity of approximately 20 mln tons.
