Turkey’s scrap import prices remained stable ahead of the upcoming Eid holidays, despite sluggish demand for finished steel. Currently, scrap import prices in Turkey are assessed at USD 379-382 per ton CFR.
The rise in scrap prices is primarily due to reduced collection rates. However, the lackluster demand for finished steel has kept prices from increasing significantly as steel mills continue to struggle with selling finished steel in both local and international markets.
Rebar export offers are currently between USD 580-590 per ton FOB, while wire rod export offers are around USD 595-605 per ton FOB.
