Turkey imported approximately 6.6 mln tons of scrap in the first four months of 2025, marking a nearly 4pct YoY decline, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
The Netherlands was Turkey’s top scrap supplier during this period, delivering 1.17 mln tons. It was followed by the United States with 1.05 mln tons, and the United Kingdom with 685,000 tons.
In April 2025, Turkey imported around 1.9 mln tons of scrap, representing a 24pct increase YoY and a nearly 13pct rise month-on-month.
