Tenaris to build second wind farm to power Siderca seamless pipe mill

Tenaris has begun construction on its second wind farm in Argentina, La Rinconada, located in Olavarria, Buenos Aires Province. The USD 214 mln project will feature 21 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 94.5 megawatts and is expected to be operational by the end of 2025.

Once completed, La Rinconada, along with Tenaris’s first wind farm, Buena Ventura, launched in 2023, will supply renewable electricity to power the company’s Siderca seamless pipe mill in Campana. The new wind farm is projected to generate 400 gigawatt-hours annually, with an estimated capacity factor of 54.5pct.

Together, the two wind projects represent over USD 400 mln in renewable energy investments in Argentina over four years. The initiative is part of Tenaris’s broader global decarbonization strategy, which also includes a new electric arc furnace in Argentina, an electric induction coil in Colombia, and solar power projects in China, Italy, and Romania.
