Saudi Arabia’s Tahweel Metal Industry Company (TMIC) has signed a contract with SMS group for the engineering, manufacture and supply of a six-high aluminum cold rolling mill to produce high-quality aluminum strip.
The mill will form the core of an integrated aluminum foil complex to be built in Dammam Third Industrial City (Modon-III), supporting TMIC’s expansion into the flexible packaging segment. TMIC is part of Tahweel Holding, a regional provider of material solutions across the MENA region.
The six-high mill is designed to roll strip up to 2,200 mm wide and 8 mm thick, with final gauges down to 0.15 mm, primarily for food and pharmaceutical packaging as well as other industrial applications.
According to SMS, the mill combines high-precision thickness control, flexible rolling capability, energy-efficient operation and advanced automation to ensure consistent product quality and long-term operational reliability.
