Voestalpine divests Bohler Profil in portfolio realignment

Voestalpine has agreed to sell voestalpine Bohler Profil to Kadant Inc. as part of its ongoing streamlining of the High Performance Metals division, the company said.

The transaction has been signed and is subject to regulatory approvals, with completion expected by the end of the 2025/26 business year. Kadant will retain Bohler Profil’s workforce following the acquisition.

Voestalpine said the decision followed a strategic review that concluded Bohler Profil was no longer a core business within the group due to its structure and sales model. Bohler Profil operates from Bruckbach, Lower Austria, supplying special steel profiles for industrial applications and is a leading producer of profiles for industrial knives.

Voestalpine’s High Performance Metals division produces advanced steels and alloys and provides services including heat treatment, surface finishing and additive manufacturing. With around 130 sites worldwide, it is a global leader in tool and high-speed steels, valve and special steels, powder materials, nickel- and titanium-based alloys, and additively manufactured components.
