In April 2024, Turkey saw a sharp 70.1pct YoY decline in wire rod exports, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Despite this, April’s exports totaled 41,000 tons, marking an increase of over 52pct compared to the previous month.
Over the first four months of the year, wire rod exports reached 388,000 tons, representing a significant YoY increase of nearly 150pct.
Romania emerged as the top importer of Turkey’s wire rods, receiving approximately 122,000 tons. Other key export destinations included Belgium (35,000 tons) and Bulgaria (28,000 tons).
