Chinese steel producer Xingtai Iron & Steel Co. Ltd. has signed a significant contract with Friedrich Kocks GmbH & Co. KG for the installation of an advanced RSB 370++/4 Reducing & Sizing Block in 5.0 design. This cutting-edge block will serve as the centerpiece of Xingtai’s new rolling mill complex, dedicated to the production of special steels. The move is part of the company’s strategic plan to relocate its production facility from Xingtai to the Chengdong Industrial Area, situated in Wei County, Hebei Province.
The contract entails a comprehensive scope of supply, including remote control for stand and guide adjustments, roll shop equipment, and Kocks software solutions for optimizing rolling results. The commissioning of the RSB is slated for the end of 2024, with the block boasting the latest safety cover enhancements, featuring upgraded casing parts.
Known for its annual output of 3 mln tons of specialty steels, Xingtai Iron & Steel holds the distinction of being China’s pioneer in manufacturing bar in coil. The new rolling mill will house the Kocks 3-roll RSB 370++/4 as the finishing block, positioned after 18 stands in H/V arrangement within a 900,000 tons per annum SBQ mill. It will enable the production of bar in coil with a finished size range of 16-52 mm, offering the highest dimensional tolerance levels.
